Self Portrait: My Dreadlocks

I cut my dreadlocks thinking that it would motivate me to find a better job and at least get myself from that financial predicament that I am in. I has been a month and still have not even started to find a job because is seem to lack motivation.
I will eventually come around to getting another job. Hopefully this image will remind and motivate me to do so.

Ahhh. I am sad for you to cut off your pride and joy. Please find a job you like then you will stay and will not have to find another one and do this to yourself again.

@e.: I know its kinda crazy. A Kenyan lady told me one day after i had cut my hair that it was wise that i had cut my hair because i can't eat my own hair. She meant that if my hair was stopping me from getting a well paying job to put food on my table then cutting it was the only wise thing to do.

my goodness,it must have been such pain to part with your dreadlocks...i remember i cut my very long hair many years back to a crew cut because i was out of love!haha..Come to think of it,it wasnt so worth it for a scumbag..lol.I wish you all the best in getting a new job,press on!thanks so much for your kidn words at my blog,you are too nice!

@Michael Rawluk: Fortunately, Delilah did not snip away my photographic skill. In some weird, I way feel more empowered and determined to make better photos, with or without my hair. Anyway, hair can always grow back.

Oh no man, that must have been hard. About fourteen years ago I had long dreadlocks that went half way down my back, after years of growing them when I lived 'off the grid' in the Republic of Ireland.....but I cut them off with some clippers for similar reasons to you - and like you, it didn't help much at the time.
Still, I got a decent job eventually, but by then I'd grown my hair again, but it was a mohican rather than dreads.....Now I'm just growing grey....

@Richard_Irwin: lol! It is good to know that you know how it feels to cut ones dreadlocks. Sometimes i wish i hadn't, but the reality of the matter is that there is a time for everything and now was the appropriate time to do so. My hope is that i will eventually get a job that will sustain me and make me conclude that i made the right decision.

Lol. I don't know how I missed this one. I was going back, enjoying your photos, and saw this. What a wonderful sense of humor. Hie thee out to get a job though, it would be a shame to have cut those beautiful locks off for nothing!
