GREAT. the warm colors in the background shows us how hot is there, and how thirsty can people become there! I think the background is no less important than the main subject.

Ooh, very dramatic. I like the selective focus very much, because it emphasizes that thirsty mouth, as if it's a fish's gaping maw emerging from the surface of blurred water.
